As a child, people told me to turn off the light whenever I left a room, because I should think of the polar bears. However, it always remained rather unclear how the polar bears at the North Pole would actually benefit from me flipping my light switch.

This is a short animation based on the concept of deciding the desired amount of energy consumption (Wh) upfront of use. The lines indicate the amount of Wh. Inspired to the old fashioned way we used to pay with coins for gas consumption, brought back to modern times.
